Program Support Assistant

The Program Support Assistant is the principle clerical or administrative support to the Office of Community Care. Duties include but are not limited to:
Performs various clerical and administrative duties such as typing correspondence and documentation review and submission. Maintains, updates and secures employee record files. Records and transcribes minutes from required staff and committee meetings. Uses computer systems to complete various tasks such as ordering office supplies and timekeeping duties. Updates and maintains specific databases and spreadsheets related to office operations. Submits reoccurring department requirements and initiates new employee systems access requests. Coordinates and schedules meetings between management and various supporting personnel and departments. Maintains suspense trackers to ensure department requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner. Develops an organizational system to assist in the success of the daily operation in the department. Communicates effectively with management as well as other department staff to ensure any and all requests are fulfilled. Communicates effectively with Veterans, outside providers, and various other hospital staff as applicable. Answers all incoming calls and returns all missed calls in a timely manner while displaying excellent customer service skills. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

Physical Requirements:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books or driving an automobile, etc. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time is required, as well as the ability to work in front of a computer screen entering data for extended periods of time. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
