Materials Manager-Materials Supervisor/Supply Chain/JD Edwards

Our client in North Charleston, South Carolina is looking for a Materials Supervisor to Identify the materials requirements and direct the planning, storage, control and distribution of goods in the organization. Closely works in association with the purchasing department, production department and the vendors to analyze material requirement to assist company in meeting short and long term production goals and to maintain an active supply chain throughout the organization.
Responsibilities for the Materials Manager
Develop, implement and manage cross functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates planning, scheduling, inventory, material and forecasting.
Reviews production requirements and engineering design specifications for raw material or purchased parts ordering and budget process.
Researches and negotiates with the vendors for best price/quality in the market and places order for the raw materials and makes sure that the placed orders are delivered on time
Answer the questions of senior executives and directors of the company in regards to materials strategies, issues and supply chain management.
Requirements for the Materials Manager
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration with specialization in Logistics, Material Management or Supply Chain Management. Or related field plus 5-7 years minimum materials management
Knowledge of ERP (JD Edwards) and KanBan
