Design Engineer
Job Description:
Supports Mid Body, and Final Assembly Business Units with Equipment & Tool Engineering work statement. Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts, and designs solutions for the Production System. Compiles and analyses technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation, or technology recommendations, and system integration for equipment and tooling. Ensures compliance with safety, capability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, and prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Develops and implements work-around and maintains the hardware, software, and documentation configuration. Performs studies and makes a recommendation for disposition of assets. Proficiency in Model-Based Definition and Drawing-Based Definition utilizing CATIA V5 with configuration management in ENOVIA Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Working knowledge with any one or more of the following programming languages - C#, Python, JavaScript Experience with stress analysis hand calculations and results validation with any one or more of the following programs - RISA, Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys, Autodesk Familiarity with metrology equipment and software, such as SpatialAnalyzer Experience providing product definitions and technical support to groups, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Education:
Experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). Review design drawings for design compliance and constructability Estimate quantities of design drawings for complete design packages Work with engineering team to coordinate electrical design with mechanical design Coordinate design activities of design-build consultants Implement new design and changes to product design Reduce design time and increase design accuracy Coaching product design for manufacturing Using best design practices and industry design standards Complete mechanical design engineering tasks and projects Use computer assisted engineering and design software to design and develop electrical mechanical solutions and test overall design Using engineering principles and design Demonstrate engineering and design principles Perform all Workholding functions including conceptual design, layout design, detail design, and design certification Do other mechanical design tasks Shoring design drawings for reliable field assembly Projecting device design for development projects in agreement Provide design and engineering direction for product design Manage both internal design and external design sources Perform engineering design calculations and studies Improve old designs for design and manufacturing improvements Recommended Skills Computer Aided Design Computer Aided Manufacturing Concept Design Engineering Product Design Structural Engineering Apply to this job.
